2020 Virtual Networking Extravaganza for Creative Industry

After a year like no other, join us for a holiday party like no other – combining the best of our annual networking parties with creative motivation and our first ever “design contest". While COVID may keep us apart, we promise an event not to be missed.

• Laugh your ascenders off with a stand-up set from comic and podcaster Erin Maguire.
• Put your creativity to use in our Ugly Zoom Background Contest, where we award the best real prizes for the worst virtual backgrounds.

We’ll also have plenty of time for breakout networking, so invite your whole studio, your copywriter, accountant, illustrator, developer, photographer, printer, collaborators, and anyone else who would like to connect and party with creative professionals. This is also a great time for new and prospective members to come meet our groups and see what types of relationships we can grow for you, and for creative pros across the country to connect with designers and business owners.

Tickets are free for members, and only $10 for everyone else, and there is not a bad seat in the house!

Ugly Zoom Background Contest

Ugly Christmas sweater contests are so 2019. This is the year of videoconference, and we challenge you to make your own ugly Zoom background in advance of the party, and use it throughout the night to be considered for the contest. Our judges will create a shortlist for each category, and winners will be chosen by popular vote at the end of the night. The categories are: Funniest, Best Design, Most Creative, and Ugliest, and the winner of each category will win a prize. If you’re not sure how to customize your Zoom background, learn more here.

James Victore

As a creative thought leader, James is known for his timely wisdom and impassioned views about creativity and its place in the world. He teaches how to illuminate your individual gifts in order to find clarity and purpose. Highly regarded for his provocative style, James Victore is a graphic designer, art educator and dynamic speaker whose work is represented in the permanent collections of museums worldwide from MoMA to the Louvre.

Erin Maguire

Erin Maguire is a NYC based stand-up comic, actor, writer, and emcee. Her stand-up was recently featured on Gotham Comedy Live for the Oculus/NextVR Network. She also recently wrote for the Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. Erin has appeared at the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, among some of comedy's greats. She has also been featured at Women in Comedy Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off, Boston Comedy Festival, and Woodstock Comedy Festival. Erin has frequently worked for ESPN and the Game Show Network. Her comedy advice podcast, Dear Pod, charted in Apple's top 100 comedy pods in America within two months of its debut.
