Design awards are a mystery to most of us. What wins, what loses and why? Join three veterans of some of the country’s most prestigious design competitions, as they reveal what goes on behind the scenes.

Panelists Include:

Gabriela Mirensky, Director of Competitions and Exhibitions, AIGA. Gabriela joined the staff of AIGA 16 years ago, and is responsible for all of their annual competitions. These provide the content for the AIGA Archives online, two major exhibitions in the National Design Center gallery each year, and their traveling extensions.

Carol Wahler, Executive Director, Type Directors Club. Now celebrating her 28th year with TDC, Carol is integrally involved with its annual design competitions and traveling exhibitions.

Graham Clifford, Owner, Graham Clifford Design. Himself a winner of design awards from One Show pencils, Communication Arts, Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club and D&AD, Graham also serves on the Executive Board of the TDC Club as Vice President. He has been a judge in competitions for ADC, TDC, D&AD and Communication Arts.
