Spend a morning off your computer at Spark’s first unplugged creativity workshop event! In this hands-on typography workshop with award-winning designer, critic and educator Michelle Bowers and Nickelodeon veteran Amelia Irwin, we will investigate type, design, and form making through drawing, image, sculpture, photography and architecture to produce works such as these.
Get inspired with these unexpected typographic results and leave with ideas on how you can apply these off-the-computer exercises to your own studio practice. Some unique and unexpected materials will be supplied. Please bring a digital camera, basic art and crafting supplies, such as scissors, glues, tools and utensils, etc. and any materials you are interested in working with such as: old books, wire, yarn, fabric, sticks, crafting supplies and recycled household items.
