Join us for a Spark Studio with Paul Carlos as he shares his insights on running his design studio Pure + Applied. Particular emphasis will be placed on his business practices, like building client relationships and achieving a work/life balance.

Paul Carlos is co-principal of Pure+Applied, a multidisciplinary design studio whose specialties include exhibitions, interiors, street graphics and community-based projects. Their substantial roster of clients includes such venerable institutions as the Museum of Modern Art, The New York Public Library, the New York City Ballet and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Paul has received numerous awards from the AIGA and the ADC, has been a juror, guest critic or speaker for SPD, I.D. Magazine and Sotheby's among others, and has taught design and typography at Parsons, The Cooper Union and MICA.
