Join us for a conversation with Scott Stowell, founder of Open – a New York-based design firm creating work that is "bold, colorful, democratic, smart, and welcoming" – and the author of Design for People. We will talk about Open's business practices, how to find clients that support great work, and tactics for managing large projects with a small studio.
Scott has led Open since it’s founding in 1998. Notable clients include the ACLU, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bravo, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, New York Public Radio, and Patagonia. He is the recipient of the National Design Award for Communication Design, and has taught at Cooper Union, the School of Visual Arts, and Yale University. Prior to founding Open, he was the art director of Benetton’s Colors magazine and senior designer at Tibor Kalman’s M&Co.
Seating is very limited, so reserve your ticket early.
