PRIVATE TOUR OF THE EXHIBIT 'THE PUSH PIN LEGACY'
The exhibition explores the incredible impact Push Pin Studios had on the resurgence and evolution of American commercial illustration.
Founded by Seymour Chwast, Reynold Ruffins, and Edward Sorel—and soon joined by Milton Glaser—Push Pin served as a counterpoint to the slick ads being created on Madison Avenue and the rigid, grid-based designs popular in Europe.
The studio also served as an incubator for a myriad of designers who would become legends in their field, from the aforementioned founders to the likes of Paul Davis, Barry Zaid, Richard Mantel, James McMullan, John Alcorn, and many, many more. A former member of the Push Pin Studios may join our tour and give some added context on what it was like to work there.
TICKETS ARE LIMITED. RESERVE YOUR SPOT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Your ticket includes all-day admission, so feel free to arrive earlier if you want more time to view the other exhibits. Friends and family are welcome but will also need to purchase a non-member ticket through the Spark website. Visit the Poster House website for more information.
Poster House is dedicated to presenting the impact, culture, and design of posters, both as historical documents and methods of contemporary visual communication. Through temporary exhibitions, a growing permanent collection, and educational events, Poster House explores the enormous impact of posters on society and culture, and how they have been adapted to contemporary use. As the first poster museum in the United States, Poster House provides a space for inquiry for all those interested in design, advertising, and public interventions, with an aim to improving design literacy among the general public.
